Redaction

Starting with 3.2.0, ComPDF Flutter SDK supports redaction annotations for marking page regions to remove. Use them to handle personal information, sensitive contract clauses, or confidential image content before distributing a document.

Key Capabilities

• Create marks: Use CPDFRedactAnnotation to specify a page and rectangle, with fill color, overlay text, and text styles.
• Manage marks: Read, update, or delete unapplied marks to review their scope before removing content.
• Apply redactions: Apply one mark or all marks in the document to permanently remove covered content.

Workflow

Create marks and check their positions and coverage, then apply them and save the result. Creating or saving marks alone does not delete the original content; applying them performs content removal.

Deleting an annotation cannot restore content after application. Retain a copy of the original file before processing. See the guide below for the platform scope and API calls used by the application examples.
