Redaction

Redaction removes sensitive text and images from PDFs. Starting with 3.2.0, ComPDF React Native SDK supports creating redaction marks, adjusting their appearance, and applying one or all marks to the document.

Before application, a redaction mark is an annotation that you can read, edit, or delete. Creating a mark does not remove the underlying content. Applying it permanently removes content in the marked area and replaces it with the fill color and overlay text. This operation cannot be undone; keep a copy of the source file first.

Workflow

1. Create a CPDFRedactAnnotation with a page, region, and overlay appearance.
2. Review the marked area and edit or delete the mark if needed.
3. Call applyRedaction() or applyRedactions().
4. Confirm the result and save the document.
